CLIPSO invites itself into splendour the most luxurious hotel in Iceland!

Basalt Architects is a world-renowned firm that sets the standard in the design and implementation of infrastructure in Iceland’s natural environment. For the construction of the luxury hotel The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland in Húsavík, the architectural firm selected CLIPSO’s high-performance products for the installation of acoustic ceilings in various areas of the resort: restaurant, lobby, spas and relaxation areas.

An award-winning achievement!

Basalt Architects was awarded the 2018 Icelandic Design Award for its contribution to the development of beach culture in Iceland. The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland was also awarded the Architecture MasterPrize (AMP) and the German Design Award 2020 for this project.

Almost 1000 m2 of SO ACOUSTIC white and coloured cladding contribute to the general harmony of the place and blend perfectly with the sober and contemporary scenery.
ENSO, a long-standing partner and CLIPSO approved installer, carried out the installation without joints or seams thanks to a covering produced in a wide width (5.10 m in one piece). A CLIPSO specificity that contributes to the homogeneous appearance and the feeling of space and volume desired by the architects.

“The architecture and design of the hotel harmonise with a volcanic environment from another world - blurring the boundary between man and nature. Inspired by the landscape, the interiors feature refined tone-on-tone colour combinations and simple forms. The colour range echoes the volcanic view, evoking harmony with water, earth, time and light”.

Lighting systems (LEDs, spotlights, lights, fibre optics, etc.) and technical equipment (air conditioning, sound systems, VMC, etc.) can also be integrated with complete discretion. Another advantage of the French brand is that the products are environmentally friendly and can be used at room temperature and dry (no odours, no drying time, very little dust and waste).
CLIPSO was awarded GREENGUARD Gold certification in 2018 for its entire range of coatings.
